What does a 35 S&W cartidge look like? Is it a 380 ACP by another name?

  No, it's a .32 auto by another name.

  It's virtually identical with the .32 ACP cartridge, not the .380. My understanding is that you could fire .32 ACP's in the S & W, it would function with out any ill effects.

  I have one in my collection, nearly identical to the .32 A.C.P. I believe that the copper jacket only covered the rounded top half of the bullet. The portion that took the rifling was exposed lead. Eddie

  elubs nailed it. Jacket cap for penetration, lead on the rifling. Sort of a reversed semi-jacket. Headstamped .35 Auto is collectors item, pistol will run on .32 ACP. Accuracy will suck.
