Stuck choke tube?

What is the best way to remove a really tight rusted in choke tube in a 20ga Benelli.

    Let it soak in Kroil for a few days. Make sure the tube wrench is a good tight fit and tap it with a hammer. Impact will bust it loose before constant pressure will.If it doesn't break loose, soak it again.
    Sometimes sticking the barrel in a freezer, and repeating the above procedure while it's still froze, will break em loose too.

    Trap55 is on the money. If that doesn't work you'll have to damage the tube to get it out. VERY CAREFULLY dremel a hole in the tube, away from the threads and without touching the inside of the barrel. Then re-soak it again to let the kroil, ZEP 45, PB or similar product get between the tube & barrel and do its job. If your not comfortable with this, take it to a gunsmith.

    If soaking doesn't work, you may have to resort to a stuck choke tube removal tool such as this one from Brownells.

    I agree with the others,but if all else fails thier is a aviation product called 5606 it is a hydraulic fluid for aircraft it will disolve the rust. soak it in this for a couple days and it will brake it free.

    After soaking with 5606, automatic trans fluid or Kroil, tap the barrel on the side with a wood mallet or brass hammer as you roll it on a piece of clean wood. Do it lightly.
    The minute flexing will let the oil penetrate better into the joint.
    A little heat wouldn't hurt.
    Tapping the end of the choke removal tool with light ringing blows will also work the oil into the joint.
    Don't rush the job.
    Let the oil work for a week.

    BROWNELL'S SELLS A TOOL FOR THIS BUT IT RUINS THE TUBE, I'VE REMOVED REALY STUCK TUBES BY EPOXYING A LARGE BOLT INTO THE TUBE.

    I have had good luck using a hair blow dryer to heat the barrel first.

    That's the best solution. Heat it up, but not hot enough to damage the bluing - a hair dryer on High for 5 minutes is good, then plunge it into a suitable penetrant. Kerosene is good. Repeat if necessary.

    If it won't break loose after the soakings and a regular choke tube remover, try and find an easy out or larger plumbers nipple remover. you can likely get a lot more leverage with a nipple remover and a long handled wrench and a than with a choke tube wrench. You'll need to replace the tubee.

    Some one mentioned frezing it. In physics class the professor used heat to open a hole slightly in a piece of steel. Torch or heat gun would work.

    If you get it out, please post what worked for you. We can always learn something.
