Stock Repair ???

I have a nice old single shot buttstock with a hairline crack. Is there any way to get some glue down in there without serious damage? thanks

  take a small drill bit (1/8" or so) and drill along the crack from were the reciver meets the stock (so you cann't see the hole with the stock on the gun). mix up some brownell's acra-glas and fill the hole, reverse the drill bit (butt end first) and force it into the hole you just filled with epoxy. this will force the epoxy into the crack, refill the hole again and clamp the crack closed (clean up any 'seepage') and let set up. makes an almost invisable repair.
