270 win cast bullet loads anyone?

Like to hear from anyone that loads cast bullets for the 270 win. What bullet, powder, favorite mold etc. also what you hunt with it.

    ATF thanks for the link. I will check it out. I was hoping to see what Alloy,Powder, FPS, etc was being used for hunting game up to small whitetaild at 100 yards or under.

    Absolutely a good question. And understand the OP's frustration with some of the "answers" received. Relevant or not, it was asked 5-years ago.

    Too, there is a GunBroker reloading forum. Though why it is mixed in with competition shooting is speculative-- maybe to save space? Oh well.

    Avoiding all the antagonism, I have loaded case bullets in the 270, but they are reduced loads compared to anything I would shoot at a deer. I use Lyman #2 alloy and through in some wheel weights. The result is fairly hard and when used with a gas check could approach 2000 fps without excess leading. I cast 130 gr flat nose and considering that this performs more like a full jacket than an expanding bullet, impact of 1800 fps with 130 grain bullet is on the light side for big game. the combination that I use is 130 grain loaded to about 900 fps, so there is no sonic snap and it works great to grain stealing rats on my friends ranches. There are a wide variety of loads that accomplish this but the constant is a fairly fast pistol powder and prior to firing, point the muzzle up and gently shake the rifle to get the powder back against the primer.

    Hard cast, Loverin design, 50/50 beeswax alox gas check will help.

    I have a Lyman mold that throws a 119 grain gas check bullet, with 37 grains of 3031 it groups about 1&1/2 inches at 100 yards, never did shoot anything but stumps with it, but am quite sure it would be a good load for whitetail or mule deer, but then I'm a old fart who thinks getting close is part of the fun of hunting[:)]
