M1A recoil buffer

    I have them in all 3 of mine, but 2 of them were used guns that had them in it.

    Do you need them? No, they were not designed to be in there. On some guns adding them will cause problems cycling so if you choose to add one make sure you gun runs with it.

    If the rife were meant to have a buffer than John Garand would have put one there! The roller on the bolt and the modification to the gas system on the M14 (or M1A) is what makes that rifle so much more pleasant to fire than the M1 and adding a buffer is just adding some gizmo to the receiver. This is sort of like the little contraptions you are supposed to put into your cars air intake to "straighten" out the in coming air to give you more horsepower and improve gas mileage. A waste of time in my never to be humble opinion.
