Remmington 550-1 22
I just started shooting this rifle. 1948 vintage. It was my Dad's. Looks damn near as good as the day it was bought.
SWEET SHOOTER! it reaches out.
I feel stupid. For the life of me, I can't figure out how to keep the chamber locked back so I can get down in there with the picks and whathaveyou to clean it.
Maybe it's broken???
Help me out here, guys and girls. Thanks in advance.

the bolt doesn't lock back. to take the bolt out, unscrew the end of reciever with slot. take out. pull bolt handle back until bolt handle alines with slot in reciever. pull bolt handle out by pulling to right. pull trigger, and bolt and return springs alonG with striker will come out rear of reciever. the bolt handle will only go in one way. if you take reciever off of stock, DO NOT MESS WITH THE BIG SCREW ON BOTTOM IN FRONT OF TRIGGER. 0 -
