    The Post-1963 manufactured Model 94s are known for being sloppy (loose tolerances), and what you are seeing is unfortunately "normal".

    Yeah I know. I'm disappointed in Winchester's quality control of those days. My Dad bought a Model 70 of that same vintage and it's fine though.

    Mike... those a damn near fighting words[}:)]

    The better choice is a pre-war Model 94, but as a minimum, any pre-64 Winchester 94 will be a big improvement.
