Cane Gun
I need some experts to ID what I saw. It is or was represented as a cane gun. The reciever is made mostly of brass and steel about 1"OD and 6 1/4" long. Protruding from the aft end is a 2 1/2" X 1/2" knurred "hammer" with a 1 1/4" brass ring to pull back and release to fire. The "barrel" is threaded into the reciever about 3/8". The firing pin looks like it would hit as a centerfire. The "barrel" has a steel liner which appears to be about 8" long. There apears to be some crude rifling at a tight twist but are rounded, not sharp and crisp like they where cut. The "barrel is 321/2" long but is very light material. A 32S&WL fits in the hole. The best part of all this is the markings. The only markings are on the brass reciever and are MADE IN THE U.S.A.WINCHESTER REPEATING ARMS CO ---NEW HAVEN.CONN---PATENTED--- These are the only markings I can find. What the heck is this thing???

I may be wrong first time but I think you need a tax stamp to own this item and it to be legal. I don't know if that is possible if it was never registered just like full auto that was never registered. 0 -

EDITSIR you do not understand firearm laws if you sell to BATFE that is what a sting operation is. Then YOU not the batf agent is who goes to jail imho the best investment of $300.00 you could ever make would take this cane gun and wipe your finger prints off and throw in the nearest dumpster.and send the $300.00 where it came from /size=3]ANY firearm violation is a felony and then ALL your firearms are GONE0 -

whether actually manufactured before or after the year 1898) and also
any firearm using fixed ammunition manufactured in or before 1898, for
which ammunition is no longer manufactured in the United States and is
not readily available in the ordinary channels of commercial trade.0 -
A cane gun is an AOW.
It is legal to make one using a form 1 and paying the $200 for the tax stamp.0 -
