mas 38 and mas type se 1935 info/value ?

These ars 7.65 french Both look identical, the 35 has a low serial no.In nice condition,no rust or dents,all original.Has any been sold recently or for sale?How rare are they as the germans took over the plant in the war and changed things? I typed in the search and can't come up with much.

    I believe your making a error in identification. The MAS 38 is a Submachine Gun. The MAS 1935 S is a pistol. Your probably confusing the Model 1935 "A" and "S" pistols, with one another. The 35 "A" was the one made for German use during their wartime occupation of France.

    Please post quality photos of the pistol, so we could help you with identification and valuation.

    It says on the barrel cal 7.65 ,type SE-MAS 1935 f80x. Its identical looking to the mas 38 maybe early model change.Its not a pistol. Its a submachine gun.

    The problem with submachine guns as with other selective fire firearms, is that they are severally regulated by the feds. It's value is moot unless it was papered/licensed during or before the 1968 amnesty. Without the above paperwork it can not be legally sold or possessed, the best you could hope for would be to donate it to a museum for a nominal tax write-off.

    I'm just doing research and of course any piece would have the proper papers/permits.Rare WWII stuff interests me,and I don't know what is rare or not or what value.Is there history of mas 1935 smg or mas 1938 sold in the last few years or how many out there?

    Selective fire firearms can only be sold through FFL's that have a "Class 3" license, i.e. you couldn't transfer the submachine guns to anybody until all the paperwork was signed sealed and delivered.

    You might contact Mark Christan one of our moderators, he is a Class 3 dealer. He if anybody would be able to advise you on the rarity and value of the French submachine guns. If they are richeous as far as the required tax stamps/amnesty papers are concerned, they would be worth in the multiple thousands.
