    this is a model 57A with the new model number T526 manufactured between 1971 and 1975. the high serial number leads me to believe it was made closer to 1975 that 1971.

    1957-1960
    The difference between the Model 55 and the Model 57 are the sight. The Model 55 rear sight is fixed groove in the frame top strap while the Model 57 has a front sight adjustable for elevation and a rear sight adjustable for windage. Does nor have Hammer the Hammer action; Large solid frame; .22 rimfire caliber with 8 rounds cylinder capacity, cylinder is unfluted and has recessed chambers and Flash control front rim; Grips are oversize plastic with molded in thumb rest; Barrel length: 2 ? inches, 4 ? inches, 6 inches; Weight: 2 ? inch barrel27 ounces, 4 ? inch barrel 29 ounces, 6 inch barrel 30 ? ounces; Frame height 4 inches; Frame length 4 7/8 inches; Overall length: 2 ? inch barrel 7 ? inches, 4 ? inch barrel 9 ? inches, 6 inch barrel 10 _ inches.

    1961-1975
    The difference between this A series and the earlier series is the addition of a loading gate to the right side of the frame. All specifications are the same except a small weight gain because of the loading gate. This model was also called Iver Johnson Sportsman Deluxe in the 1974 to 1975 era. DOES NOT HAVE HAMMER THE HAMMER ACTION
