OLD 38 REVOLVER ID
I have an uncle that just passed and left me a vintage 38 police special - which I'm assuming is not a Colt or S&W, but a knock-off.
I don't have the gun yet, but my family sent me detailed pictures. It has a swing out cylinder with a Colt style release.
There is apparently no manufacturer info of any type, but a matching serial number (18260) on both sides of the bridge in front of the cylinder and the words "38 Police Special" on the barrel. Also, on the right side there appears to be a locking screw just above the trigger housing.
The grips look to be checkered white plastic with a stainless screw located centrally through the middle.
Does anyone know what this might be?

not without some pics--when you get some post them-theres a sticky on the front page on how to do it. Some knockoffs aren't too bad as shooters-some aren't safe to shoot. None really have any collector value but since it was your uncles it will have sentimental value to you. 0 -
