questions about using gunbroker.com

howdy,

i'm new to this forum and bidding site and could someone help me please.

i'd like to bid/buy something that i found and i don't mind giving some info to register BUT, i will NOT give out a cred. crd. number on the web just to register.

is there any way to contact gunbroker.com by phone?

i can't email them w/out registering and i can't register w/out submitting a cred. crd. number. i completely understand needing protection from fraud, etc. but this seems ludicrous and appears to be far too restrictive.

can anyone help me w/ this? or is there no recourse to this problem.

    Welcome to the Gunbroker Forums!

    All questions regarding the operation of the Auction side have to go through the Help/Support section of the Auctions. The Help/Support button is found at the top of the first page of the Auction website.

    I reckon you won't be registering then.

    Requiring the card on file does a couple of things. First, it verifies that you are an actual adult human and not some kid playing around. Second, it allows Gunbroker to collect fees if you sell anything.

    Gunbroker has many thousands of registered users. All of them have put up credit cards or debit cards to register. Why should you be the exception?
