I have some 30/30 cartridges of unknown origin.I have a RCBS bullet puller with interchangable collets.I haven't been able to pull hese bullets.I've never had a problem before.Since these are so hard to pull, could that have caused high chamber pressure?Any ideas would be appreciated.I don't even have a rifle that shoots 30/30's
    Thank You
    Jim

You are not the only one that missplaced the chuck for the puller. There is someone on the wanted forum who did. He did not realize you can just use a shell holder and do the same thing faster. The chucks for mine were put up a while ago.

It's almost as if they made the hole in the screwtop specifically to fit a shellholder.

BTW, I use my inertia puller only if I'm pulling a handful of rifle rounds or handgun loads. For anything more than a few rifle rounds, a collet-style puller for use in a press is far, far faster and easier.

No, the collet does NOT ruin the bullet. Unless you really crunch them, they're as accurate as un-pulled bullets. I've tested it. Dismiss it from your mind.

If you have a Hornady or RCBS they will send you free Lifetime warrenty collets for the puller, just ask!

I install couple of foam earplugs in the bottom of the puller to keep the sharp point bullets from distorting!
