RagRing Question

I seen a gun here on gunbroker with the statement the barrel had a rag ring? What exactly is a rag ring, and does it affect accuracy or is it detrimental in other ways? Thanks

    Never heard the term ask the seller to explain and if he does not get back to you Pass on Bidding.

    I will bet he did not proofread his ad and it should be Drag Ring. From turning the cylinder.

    You are probably right, though it should be noted that "drag" lines are on the cylinder, not barrel.

    You can see a faint drag line in between the cylinder stops on this Colt Trooper:

    Just a guess but if a piece of a cleaning patch was left in the bore and the gun fired, could that cause a rag ring?

    I think that could cause "ringing ears" when the barrel explodes!

    Rather than speculate what the term "rag ring" is supposed to mean, I think Perry Shooter has it right. Personally, I'd ask the seller to explain exactly what he/she meant by the term.
