Winchester Model 62-Need help with value

Info on gun includes--Winchester Model 62 .22 S L. OR L.R.


Number 39488A

Any information would be helpful. I've done some research but there are a number of variations. I assume the A following the serial number indicates post-war, but I am not sure. Thanks

  Hello MGA,
  
  The serial number on your rifle indicates that it was serialized in October of 1937. It was most likely assembled into a complete rifle in the October - December 1937 timeframe... making it a pre-war Model 62.
  
  The overall condition indicates that it saw a considerable amount of use, and that it appears to have a strong patina. Based on what I can see in the two pictures, it is a $350 - $400 rifle at best.
