Iver Johnson Cadet 55SA manufacture date

I recently sold a Iver Johnson Cadet model 55sa with a serial # of G4864. The buyer would like to use his C&R FFL. Does this pistol qualify? Thanks

  NO, the model 55SA was introduced in 1961 and was discontinued in 1978. there are not any factory serial number records available. i personally not sell any model 55SA marked revolver on a C&R. if however it was simply marked Model 55S (1955-1960) that would be ok. seem unfair but that is the law.
  
  this one serial number G 4864 at the earliest was made in 1961 and the latest 1963. depending on how many they made each year.
