Rau .22
[img][/img]http://img515.imageshack.us/i/dsc01294t.jpg/I have a Rau .22 single shot that I would like to sell...
Can anyone help with an approx. worth of this gun.
Was made in 1950 and only a couple hundred were made.
About all I know....please help....thanks, Gary

The problem with selling low production guns is often the fact that so few were made, no one is actively searching for them. And, they may change hands so infrequently that we have no sales data to use to put a price on them. The Gunbroker auction site is probably the best place to show it to a large audience, but "rare" doesn't always mean "valuable".
You might want to see if you can get better photos. At least one photo should be close enough that we can read the markings on the rifle.
Instructions for posting photos on this forum can be found on a sticky near the top of the first page. You will need to learn how to do this if you plan to list photos on any auction site.

Gary,
I do not think your rifle was made in the 1950s. Based upon the following page, it appears to have been made no earlier than 1970:

There are several links & updates on that page, so read 'em carefully.[;)]
EDIT:
Gary,
I am sorry, I do not have a value for you.[V]0 -
Yes, you are right...I have since learned that...I did read one
article about Rau Arms and it said it was started in 1949?
Not sure, but I think you are correct....any idea what my gun
might be worth? thanks, Garyquote:Originally posted by BigLoop22
