I have a Winchester Model 12 20 gauge in excellent shape. The serial # is 1920844. How old is my gun? It has a non-original simmons 2 pin raised rib, non-original extended forearm, and non-original recoil pad. It's barrel is modified, 2 3/4 , and 28 in. long. I would say overal it is 95%. Can anyone tell me how much this gun is worth???

just to note; you measure the barrel by inserting a rod down to the closed bolt, measure how much is inside the barrel.

What choke does it say it is on the side of the barrel? I am betting that the polychoke was cut off the end.

Are you measuring the barrel length from the end of the barrel to the receiver or the end of the chamber?

In 1923 the 20 gauge was offered with a 25 inch barrel, which would be measured from the end of the barrel to the end of the chamber. However, no mention of a 24 inch barrel.

I've never seen reference to "special order" 24 inch barrels, nor was it listed as an option. It is probably an altered barrel due to, as cartod said, a removed polychoke or, a barrel that was damaged near the muzzle, and subsequently cut.
