GREENVILLE - A state representative is hosting a rally in Greenville Monday evening in support of the Second Amendment.
State Rep. Dan Flynn (R-Van) has invited Suzanna Hupp, gun rights advocate and author of the book "From Luby's to the Legislature: One Woman's Fight Against Gun Control", as the guest speaker for the event, scheduled at 5:30 p.m. Monday at the Landmark on Lee Street (the old post office), 2920 Lee Street. Admittance to the rally is free.
"Suzanna is a friend and colleague, whose courage and conviction about gun-rights I admire," Flynn said in announcing the rally. "I am honored to welcome her to Greenville for this great event."
Hupp, a former Republican member of the Texas House of Representatives and a recognized public advocate for the Second Amendment and an individual's right to carry a concealed weapon.
Her book, "From Luby's to the Legislature: One Woman's Fight Against Gun Control," details her battle for gun-rights, which was spurred into action when she witnessed the 1991 massacre at a Luby's in Killeen. Hupp lost her parents in the tragedy.
Hupp's book will be available for purchase at the rally for $25, and she will be on-hand for a book-signing.
