at the moment the smallest caliber you can get in a Ruger International is .243 and looking back through the blue book the smallest caliber that was offered was .22-250 which was discontinued in 1991. My book is a little old so they MAY have brought out a .223 since this book and discontinued it which gun makers do from time to time. Not sure if Ruger does special orders but you could always ask them.

Why not get he gun you want and then get a custom stock?

I've thought about that too...I'd have to research it further.
    Someone suggested a Steyr-Mannlicher LS...I'm not sure I've seen one in .223

One thing to consider on choosing a mannlicher stock. Barrel heat/expansion/vibration / rain ,snow/swelling all have a more pronounced effect on grouping due to a full length stock. Any contact the further down the barrel will have a greater result on bullet flight. It can be built correctly and perform as well as any stock length but keep in mind this potential problem. I have been down this road many years ago.
