Pre-64 Winchester 264Mag.

Does anyone know the value of this model rifle with 98% wood and less then 20 rounds through it.It really is near perfectly new.[?]Its the Westerner model

    You can get a rough idea if you look on the auction side to see what similiar rifles are going for. I paid just under 1,000 for mine some years ago--its condition was less than you describe yours, though. Is yours the "Westerner" or the featherweight?

    If it is a pre-64 "Westerner" in legitimate 98% condition it is worth more than $1000. How much more?? Depends on the market.

    Make sure it is a Pre-64. I recently saw a Westerner .264 that was made in 1964 and it was nothing like a pre-64 M70. I also saw a pre-64 in .264 Win for sale at a shop last week. They are asking $1,700 but would probably take $1,500. I was told that it has been there several months.

    It was purchased by my father in 1962 and I saw him kill 2 antelope,and a deer with it and he never fired it again.

    If you are talking about 98%+ condition, Model 70 Westernerm you are talking $2k+. If you really want to know what it is worth, put it on the auction side. Start it at$500.00 with no reserve...you will witness the WWIII vesrion of a bidding war break out.

    If you do list it please advertise it here by letting the forum know you are listing it. If you list it with a reserve, you will reduce the number of people even willing to look at the listing.

    The .264 was added to the Model 70 standard rifle chamberings in 1960. It was added to Featherweight chamberings in 1962. They were both marked "Westerner" and the latter marketed as the "Featherweight Westerner". Both had factory pads as standard. The only Featherweight with a standard pad. If a Featherweight, it might have slightly higher value because fewer were made before 1964.
