    Model 17 6" barrel... model 18 4" barrel
M17 has wider" target hammer spur & trigger"
M18 has thinner "combat hammer spur & trigger"

Pre model 17 was called "22 Masterpiece" pre model 18 was called "22 Combat Masterpiece", same difference between models 14 & 15.

Thanks for the answers! Any difference in frame size or grip style?

    Sorry, Marc2564.
My Mdl 18 has target hammer, target trigger and target grips.
Only real difference is barrel length and factory designation.

Both are K-frame S&W revolvers. Grips for one will fit the other.
