Value and age
We have a Iver Johnson Special Trap 12 gage, T9877 serial number? Does anyone know when it was made, sold and a value in excellent contition?

the special trap model was the top of the line for iver johnson single barrel shotguns. built of the rerular champion frame but special attention given to fit and finish. this model does not come on the used gun market very often and most people do not even realize iver johnson made a special built trap gun. just as they don't realized iver johnson also built a special Super Trap Double gun (not to be mistaken for the Skeet-er model).

Single barrel top lever break open mechanism; 12 gauge only; 32 inch barrel with a full length raised ventilated rib, finely matted; two, Lyman Ivory sights, full chocked; frame blue and barrel browned; American Black Walnut butt stock and fore-end with hard rubber butt plate and pistol grip cap, hand checkered, anti-flinch recoil pad optional; automatic ejector; weight 7 pounds; length of butt stock 14 ? inches, drop at comb 1 ? inches and drop at heel 2 inches; overall length 47 inches.
