Parker Bros .. 10 Gauge

Hi all - another request... I've come across an older parker bros 10 G,. SxS, hammers, sidelock, twisted steel - not damascus. SN - 316xx. How do I insure this thing, as well as determine age and value? Thanks in advance. I understand that condition matter... However, this one does have a healthy crack in the stock below the release lever. Should I spend the money to fix the original wood or get new stock?

  Frankly, that old gun does not have enough value to be concerned about insuring it. Twist barrels were used on the bottom end guns, and the damage to the stock further reduces the collector value.
  
  As for the crack in the stock, there are a number of very talented people who can repair it, and that would be my first choice.

  Forgot to mention... it is an 1883 vintage gun.

  Hang the gun above the fireplace and spend your money on another gun.
