AR-15 Mags

Anyone know where I can find quality pre-ban 20-30 rd mags for my AR-15? Should I get metal or plastic? I've heard Colt has the best ones. Is that true?

    I have 160 30 round mags for AR-15 can I sell these online or is there a law that says I can't

    There are a lot "plastic" mags out there. Post some pics and maybe we can identify them and the problem. Also, where did you purchase them?

    Sorry I misread the bags part as being mags.

    Can you post a link to the auction you won?

    Thanks.....I bought them from a seller on Gunbroker. They are black/metal. I even looked at the indents on the mag & compared it to a colt mag...looks the same. Just a slight bit larger...??? Again, thanks for the help....I will post some pics tomorrow.

    Would they fit into the magazine well at all?

    did you try to see if they would fit with the bolt carrier group locked back?

    Steel mags are a little harder to lock in. gotta push em hard when the bolts in battery.

    One trick to get a stubborn mag to lock into place is to push the magazine release button while pushing upward on the mag letting go of the button when you think the mags in place.

    Maybe they are for a Ruger Mini 14.

    when you put the mag in, did you smack it in with your hand ? If it falls out easily, it might be your mag release button needs tightened one turn

    The mag didn't even fit into the mag well. Good point...could it be possible they are for the Mini-14??? I tried to retrieve the auction info. and was unable....too long. I will be looking back into my paper files. Will try the suggestions and get back...Thanks to all.....

    OK....I locked the bolt back & I was able to push 2 of the 3 steel mags in the well. One is not even possible. The two that fit are NOT acceptable at all...to tight. I even tried to oil the mag & mag well, still not good. Had to pry it out. No Tactical Re-loads w/ these mags, without a crowbar at least. I am convinced I bought some "outlaw" mags & someone's problem. I noticed the mag plate was made really crude, sharp edges on two sides, over-extending the mag and dangerous for the hand during reloading. I will just throw them in my junk bag, I'm sure not going to sell them to someone. Thanks for all the help.....

    The auction he won is no longer in the data base in other words he purchased them a while ago.
