FFL Question????

Can I as a private citizen send a handgun to a FFL Dealer in another state??? I would like to make a trade with a dealer in another state. We have worked out the details but I'm not sure I can legally send him the gun as a private citizen (Non-FFL holder).

    yes you can-just send it through a main UPS or Fedex hub-not the stores in the strip malls. They both usually charge around $50 to ship a handgun as they will only ship it next day air. You cannot mail a handgun through the post office but you might want to check with a local FFL as they can and with the fee they may charge you and the cheaper shipping they get through the USPS it might be cheaper than UPS or Fedex.

    you can send it but he can't send the trade to you so line up your transfer dealer

    There is something about a non FFL shipping to a manufacture or gunsmith and them shipping direct to you a REPLACEMENT I don't know if this wording would include a TRADE. I will try to look it up in the BATFE BIG BOOK

    You cant send a handgun into NYS without it coming from an FFL.. What state(s) are you dealing with ?
