Mannlicher Schoenauer Trigger Adjustment

Does anyone have the instructions for adjusting the trigger? The rifle is a Model 1952 30-06 carbine with a single trigger. The weight is a little heavy but usable; however, there is a lot of excess creep that I would like to eliminate. If read that a properly adjusted single trigger on one of these is awesome.

  Many years since your post... But, did you ever get any guidance? I have same issue with a Model 1952.

  I love those old post-war Mannlicher Schoenauers and have a couple with, like yours, the single trigger. Those triggers are of the "direct pull" type, i.e., the sear starts to move as soon as you move the trigger. They are similar to the ones on military rifles like the Mausers and Springfields but not two-stage. However, they do have what M-S calls a "regulating screw" that adjusts sear engagement. You have to use caution and not go too far but lessening sear engagement will reduce creep. You can, of course, cut coils off the trigger spring to reduce weight of pull (I have not done that nor will I).

  I have recently acquired a Model MC, made in 1959, that has a single trigger. The pull weight is a bit heavy, 5+ lbs, but with little creep. Good luck with yours.
