S&W L frame rear sight?
I have a 586 Smith that has the rear sight missing. I seet hey are measured by "thousandths?" at Midway. Mine measures 1/4" across and 29/16" inches long.(square notch rear) Any help as to the "size" I need. T.I.A. Walt

You need to know the heigth of the sight blade. All the rest of the sight are the same dimentions. 0 -

There may (or may not) be one other thing to consider. Not certain on the L-frame, but on some of the N's a change was made a while back that involves a rounded end to forward body of the sight with the recess in the top strap not extending all the way to the forward end as in the past. 0 -

Thanks for the info...Mine is an "old" 586,no dash series, with the square front and square back rear. Geez, there is so much I don't know about guns, and I have had, shot hundreds,,,[:I],,nambu0
