remington barrel question

I have a 17 remington barrel from a 700. I was wondering if I could get the threads on it cut to fit on a large ring small shank turk mauser action as the 8X57 barrel that is on it is pretty well shot out. What kind of 17 wildcats would use the same boltface? Thanks!

  remington 12 ga target barrels. some are marked diffrent,whats the scoop?
  
  * 12 ga 2 3/4target*
  
  *12 ga. 2 3/4 target
  
  *12 ga. 2 3/4 target contour
  
  some have 1 star before wording & 1 after, some just before wording.is the contour barrel just lighter than a standard contour?
