doing a paper for class need help please?
Can any one tell me basically, in layman's terms the difference in possession laws in the last ten years. My research is the difference in the laws pertaining to crime. I found the stats for crime (murder)total for firearms comparing 1999-2009 on gov. link but having a hard time finding this in layman's terms? If I sound uneducated on this topic I am, I do apoligize. Actually since I have read so much about it I will probably find out more when it's done but for now I need some help please???[:(]

You might also Google "Castle Doctrine" or "Castle Law" as many states have adopted it in the past ten years which allows a person to use a firearm for self-defense if they feel threatened. 0 -

You should be able to find reference books written by Dr John Lott at the library; he is one of the few academics who has written accurate & understandable analyses of firearms used in crimes.
Also, check out the Congressional Research Service for documents like: http://www.fas.org/sgp/crs/misc/RS22458.pdf
You may even need to start with the definition of "crime"; note that trace data on "crime guns" includes stolen guns recovered from criminals, not just those used to commit crimes. That's an important distinction overlooked by many researchers.
