they are excellent well made shotguns, but finding parts can be very difficult. anyone know of a source for parts other than gun parts or jack first? 0 -
They are extremely well made guns and of very high quality. The SxS model with the most exposure here in the USA was probably the old Royal Model, which used a Anson and Deeley type box-lock action and was in production before I was born and was still being imported when I got into the gun business in the 1970s. There were a ton of options available on this model and you seldom see two guns even remotely alike. As Mr. Smith already mentioned, parts are hard to come by and the services of a good (very good) gunsmith may be needed to fabricate various springs and other small parts. 0 -
My passion is drillings. any pictures you can email and I will provide info. JP Sauer sxs are excellent, light, accrue in value, nearly all parts are hand made and can be replicated by several skilled shops here in US. Most likely to fail (old gun) are the hammers springs. Check for strong firing pin hit on primed only case and also check chamber length. Will be marked as such under barrel such as 67 or 70. Indicating 2 1/2 or 2 3/4 in. 0
