browning buckmark slide locking

Anybody have any idea why the slide on a browning buckmark would lock down after a misfire? Have field stripped and cleaned but same problem. Actually have to take a screw driver and force the slide back to get the live round out.Also had same problem when slide was closed using release lever and no ammo involved? Any advise would help. One gun smith said shoot the crap out of it and it would correct itself??

  Shouldn't be binding up like that. The Buckmark is a quality product. Take it to a competent gunsmith who knows what he's doing, not some reject quack who couldn't make it flipping burgers at mickey d's, then decided he was going to be a gunsmith.

  "not some reject quack who couldn't make it flipping burgers at mickey d's, then decided he was going to be a gunsmith."...........come-on now tell use how you realy feel[;)]. the browning is a pretty straight foreward simple pistol. After you clear it check the slide spring assy, it has a small plastic 'tit' that came be broken on reassembly.
