where can I get info to disassemble a cva flintlock 50 cal Kentucky pistol?

CVA has not made pistols in years. I belong to a Muzzle loading club. I'll check with some the guys that has been doing this for a while. Is that the only Black powder gun you have. Or are you like most of us BP shooters, you have more then you need. Very good looking pistol. 0 -

These old time guns are pretty simple to take apart.
Knock out that brass barrel wedge with a brass or wooden hammer, and remove the ramrod, and the barrel will come out.
The lock is held on with one or two screws. Look on the opposite side of the pistol from the lock, you will see the screw heads. Unscrew these and the lock comes off.
That is about it, the trigger guard is held on with two screws. If you want, remove the trigger guard, then you will see there are probably two screws to hold the trigger on.
All that stuff is simple to do.
Taking the lock out is not problem, it comes out in one piece. But, if you start taking that lock apart, you may wind up taking it to a gunsmith for reassembly.0 -

I have got it apart. I am going to have a wood specialist change the color and brightness of the wood.
