Can anyone tell about what a colt 1911 Manufacture date 1918 is worth?

Great condition blue is about 75% great shooter! thanks

    You have posted the wrong photo; that is not a M1911.

    Photos must be close enough for us to read the markings on the entire gun, including the barrel.

    OK fine it is a government model, colt, in 45 acp

    That is what it says and has a pic of a colt inscribed on the left side of a colt rearing up. My camera phone cant do any better thanks

    The picture is of a 1911A1 Type frame not a 1918 pistol If the frame is marked Government model then the serial number should have the letter C as part of the serial. A Military model pistol will have model 1911 on the slide but U.S. Property on the frame. it will also have inspector marks on the frame and barrel The pictures are next to useless we need DETAIL CLOSE UP in FOCUS if you want the pictures to be our eyes that need to be from about 6 inches away but in sharp focus. From your picture that pistol looks to have less then 20 % BLUE. We need you to help US.

    I understand, dont have the camera to do any better. I did make a mistake on the serial though, its 313xxx not 333xxx. To my knowledge this pistol has not seen the light of day since the early 60's It was my grandfathers and im 50!

    Well, your camera won't do any better, & our eyes won't do any better; I guess we've reached an impasse.

    The slide of any 1911-type pistol will fit on any 1911-type frame. What you have is a mixed parts gun with a commercial Colt slide on a 1911A1-type frame whose manufacturer we haven't been able to figure out. They appear to have been together long enough so that wear to the finish is matching.

    Value is probably in the $200-400 range. More than that, I don't think that there is much we can tell you.

    Your first post said that this was not even a 1911!! I don't need sarcasm i was just asking a question!! I just got this and wanted help!! It's not for sale and my family said i should try to see what it was worth. I have A LOT of firearms and would not sell it cause it means something to me! Since i had not seen something like this i though i could come onto a reputable site and simply ask.

    I wish I had seen this before because that kind of stuff is not staying in this forum!
