Turner Kirkland .41

Any info on this little pistol other than what I have already googled please post. I know(or think) Turner Kirkland(Dixie Gunworks) had these produced in italy under his name? There is a book about guns of the Miss. I have on order and hope this is in it?. When were they first produced and when were they stopped? Mine does not have the scroll work but I like it if any of you do it out there. Thanks for your help. Norm

    If it was made in Italy it would have their Proof Marks, one of which is a coded date.

    Thanks I looked it up, w/ the marks on the pistol it's from Gardon & Brescia.All The markings say "since 1951" and on the pistol it is also marked "XX7" is this a black powder term?

    All three of the marks should be Roman Numerals. Look at them using a magnifying glass. Not likely that the third digit is a "7".

    Yeah it's a 7, X=10 XX=20 so even if it did have a 7(and it's a 7,very clear) that could still not be the date? But you have started me in the right direction. I will take a pic of the markings and see if that helps anyone. Somebody has to have one of these besides me. Thanks

    XX7 is a 1971 proofmark.

    Thanks guys! One more thing while I have some experts on the line, interlocking diamonds, I know they mean something as well, any ideas?

    If you see the letters "FAP" within any diamond, it was made by Fratelli Pietta.
