rem chokes

I have just aquired a remington model 1100 ,16 ga,clasic field, vented 26"barrel with several different screw in chokes,new still in the box. I was told by remington the weapon was made in 1966,yesterday i was told at a gun show that the screw in chokes were not available in 1966,is that true? also the weapon is in a brown cardboard box with a label on the end with the rem logo and all the weapon info on it, also the owners manual has all the weapon info on it, including the different chokes,, it also has an order number on it,is this weapon a special order gun, when did remington go to the green boxes,what is the approx worth of this weapon,, any info would be greatly appeciated ,pb

    rem chokes were not available until the 1980's. there is a 2 letter code on the left rear of the barrel and a sticky at the top of this forum giving the dates of mgf.

    mike thanks for the info, the barrel code "KY" and no other markings,says 1974,remington says 1966, and the box code says 1974,,so who knows..is that a picture of Annsio Anna. i remember my father talking about a cannon like that from WWII

    yes the gun is 'Anzio Anne'....now at Aberdeen proving ground. according to the 'sticky' above your shotgun could also be 2004 vintage.

    I thought that looked like "Anzio Anne", I was stationed at Aberdeen Proving Grounds for awhile in "76".
