Zee rings and Taurus mount

I am scoping a Raging Bull and have the factory Taurus Weaver-style mount. The Burris Zee-rings I have will not slide over the mount. It seems that the mount could be out of spec a bit (too wide). Is this just normal, and do I need to stretch the Zee's a little? Or do I need to file down the mount a little? Or is this combination incompatitable?

  The Z's do seem a bit tight, I usually just open them up a touch...
  Worse comes to worse, file the base till they fit...........

  If you FILE something then do it on the cheapest to replace part.

  Are the Zee rings new? If used they will be very tight on a new base sometimes. Try opening them up just a tad. I use a wedge and expand them just a little.
