Remington model 12A

I just picked up a very sweet model 12a. Can anyone tell me the year of manufacture. SN is 4583XX. Thanks in advance for all of your help. This is the greatest source of info.

  on the left side of barrel next to reciver there are some letters or numbers that is were to start to date a remington

  Thanks for the info. All that is on the left side of the barrel by the receiver is the Remington name and below that is printed Trade Mark. Below that is 22 Short Long and Long Rifle. On the bottom of the receiver in fromt of the SN are the lettters RW.
