.17 Simi Auto Rifle

I know you can convert .22 rifles to this caliber, I wonder if there is a resonable priced out of the box semi auto rifle.

    If you're talking about the 17 HMR I think pretty much everybody has stopped making them in semi-auto. Google 17 HMR recall. Hornady says their ammo is fine. Gun makers are saying their guns aren't safe shooting it.
    17 Mach2, if that's the one you're refering too, might be different. I'm not sure.

    If you are talking about the 17 HMR, I would forget it. The only ones that seemed to have success is Volquartsen.

    However, if you want a 17 Mach 2, then there might be a bunch of them on the auction side like T/C, and Magnum Research.too.

    Yes! I picked up 500 round of the HMR full metal jacket rounds in a trade were they were excess in the trade. I thought I would try to find something to shoot it in. I will read the article mentioned. So from what I have read here a bolt action is fine for these rounds no semi auto.

    Yeah, bolt guns are fine. My dad has a Savage 93R17 FV. It's not going to win any beauty contests in my opinion but it's cheap and shoots some very nice groups.
