Ramshot X-Terminator Powder?

Has anyone tried the Ramshot X-Terminator powder in any cartridge other than the 223 remington? How about the 30-30, 243win, 308 win, 30-06, 270win etc.

    They state the ideal cal.s for "x-terminator" powder are:

    223rem

    they also offer a free loading guide by calling 1 800 497 1007

    My question is, "why ask for opinions here when the advice of the experts that manufacture the stuff is so easily obtained?"

    The powder is a pretty fast one. AND, it's a double base powder which means it's going to produce a higher pressure per volume than a single base powder will.

    With it's speed and pressure combined you will see that not only is it ideal for small cases like the .218, .222, and .223 it is ideal in them with "light" bullets. Go to: http://www.ramshot.com/powders/ and you will see by the loads it isn't listed with ANY big cases or heavy bullets in the small cases.

    I don't know what your experience with reloading is but in time following recipes you'll start to notice trends when powders exceed their useful capability range. In this case, none of the cases you listed could use Ramshot X-terminator. And yes, I know, it's frustrating because MidwayUSA has a sale on it for 12.99 right now. If you've got a .223 ({(everyone should)}) and load 45-55 gr. bullets, it's a zinger.

    I will do the best to answer those questions put to me. I asked because like everyone knows that has reloaded for years, there are times that the powder companies list only cartridges they have tested thier powders in. Still at times these powders might work quit well in others.
    Yes I do have a couple of 223rem but have loads that work quick well for them. The bullets I use for them run from a 60gr to a 75gr.
    I asked about the cartridges mention for a relative that reloads but does not have a computer. I mentioned to him I thought the powder would be to fast but would post the question for him.
    The gunBroker Forum is the best and its members the greatest. If they do not have a answer to a question than there is not one!!

    Take a look at the burn rate on that website too. Like most of them, powders get changed from positions on other people's/companies charts. But usually they are close in position to each other if not exact.
    As you probably know you can't compare straight across with the two different type powders in the burn rate. What you can compare is that you know the powder with nitroglycerin is going to produce more pressure in an equal weight. In looking at that powder on that burn chart I confirmed it was for light bullets in small cases by seeing where it stood in comparison to not only TAC but AA2015 and IMR4198 as well. And, as you've already seen there is a safe load for the powder with a couple bullet weights up. But they don't list it because they don't feel it would be productive.
