there are 'barrel band' sling mounts available, try brownell's if your local sporting goods store doen't have them.

The end of the part that hooks to the tube is usually drilled and tapped for a sling stud, never cared for the clamp on style. Marks the barrel up to much to suit me..
The newer barrels are already done like that....

If the bottom of the barrel lug is drilled and tapped I have the specific stud for the 37.

The barrel mounting finger was tapped on the slug barrels only IIRR. I used a barrel band stud mounted with some blue Loctite. Can't remember where I got it, maybe Midway.

i have a butler creek sling i bought a couple of years ago that has two loops in it. the small loop fits around the barrel and the large loop fits around the stock at the pistol grip. i really like this set up, it works very well in most hunting situations.
