have him go to the dmv and have his id card corrected, unless he is military it shouldnt be a problem and if he is military that shouldnt stop him from the purchase. I had the same thing happen when i didnt update my DL after moving to my new address and this was moving a few miles down the road in the same county and state.

In some States it's permissible to have a PO Box as your address on your DL.

The easiest thing to do to satisfy the fed residency ID requirements, is to get a voter I.D. card from the county you live in. It will have his legal address for voting purposes.

Have a guy that won a firearm on auction. Now he says he cant find an ffl that will handle the deal because his id and current address differ. Sounds like bs to me. Is there a solution to this?

In CA you can run into problems if your ID and current address are different, may be true in some other states. But it's an issue that can be corrected by him heading down to DMV and getting the address updated. You can send the gun to the FFL, the gun can sit with the FFL until the address correction is done. Or you can hang on to the gun, assuming he's already paid, until he gets the address update.

Another solution, if he's already paid you, is to keep a few bucks to cover your cost and tell him he can't get the gun because he can't complete the deal, then relist.

    It's HIS problem, not yours.

His obligation was to make sure that he had a local FFL lined up before he hit the BID button on any auction. Whatever auction site you are using, they have a procedure for reporting those who do not complete an auction; follow it.

Sorry, I'm a little slow this morning. Giveaway? [:p]

Seriously, as the folks have said- HIS problem (assuming you have been paid) HE is responsible for seeing that he can recieve a firearm at his end, and HE needs to fix it. Follow the deadbeat procedure if he has not paid you, relist, drive on.

He has not paid either. I believe he is a deadbeat. Has an excuse for everything.

Just the cost of doing business. Relist the gun and leave feedback. "It happens".

Even if it's on the up and up it is still HIS problem.

Tell him to get is ID corrected and send you the money. Hold the gun the standard period- say 5 business days. If he doesn't pay within that period, re-list.
