I'm just stumped-Jericho .45ACP issue
I came into possession of a newer Jericho 941S by way of gunbroker (no one sells them in my area in the .45ACP and I wasn't about to pay special order prices). I'd done a ton of research on this model and it met all my criteria for a concealed carry handgun (I'm a bigger guy with big hands, the weight is one of the things I like about it). Rave reviews all over the internet, few reports of misfeeds, and the price was low compared to a 4" Kimber. FYI, it's the All steel Jericho with the decocker mounted on the slide.
Supposedly it had an issue with the magazine release button and had been sent back to the factory to have it fixed, so it had to be sold as used (and dirt cheap yeah yeah yeah "get what ya pay for"). When I got it, there was one mag, no case, no cleaning kit. And it had a misfeed problem.
Ok, I toyed with the mag a bit, cleaned everything like crazy to make sure there wasn't gooped up oil sitting near the chamber. Still misfed. Usually about the 4th or 5th round. Figured "Break in needed", so I shot a hundred rds through it, still had the same problem.
Bought two new clips directly from Charles Daly (they are the new distributor for this gun) for testing purposes and...well, I wanted two more clips.
Still had misfeed problems with all three. But now it's down to the 7th or 8th rd (10 rd clips).
Took it to a buddy of mine that builds AR-15s and has an engineering degree to have a look see as all of my previous handgun knowledge is built around 1911's and had been a very long time ago. Misfed at least once on every clip with the exception of one and went through 150 rds. Misfeeds occurred anywhere from 3rd to 7th rd in the magazine (After every time we'd mess with the mag springs to try to stiffen them up, did a few other things here and there). Would still get a stovepipe-like misfeed at some point in time...and it's not a post firing misfeed, the rounds are still intact, just not chambering
He pointed out that there was a bizzare two spring set up for the recoil spring. I'd seen the same and thought it was a little weird but was probably made that way. After a call to Magnum Research (they still have all the parts for the Baby Eagle/Jericho, CDI doesn't have them yet) and sure enough, it's supposed to have two springs, metal or polymer frame.
Looking at the rounds after they've ejected we noticed that 1) It's not centerfiring, and 2) some of the jackets have "tears" in them. In other words there are two cracks in the casing, symmetrical in distance from each other and and in length, about 1/8 of an inch.
I've shot 230 gr blazers, FMJ winchesters, gold dot hollow points, and 180 gr hollows through it. Same problems.
I still like the gun. When it does fire, it's amazingly accurate. Only thing that sucks is the massive trigger pull (feels like 15 lbs) on the DA. I'd love to know what the hell is wrong with this thing (other than operator error...I'm sure that's part of it).

They limit responses on this board to 10. So I'd recommend you delete your 2nd post.
Anywho, I believe you want your gunsmith to polish your chamber and feed ramp on that pistol. I've heard that will solve that problem on that pistol. I believe it's a comon problem on the 45acp Baby Eagles. I worked part time for 5 years at a gun range and met one fellow that had the exact same issue and resolution.
Otherwise it could be you are limp wristing the pistol. Limp wristing is a more comon issue with new shooters and polymer pistols but can happen with any semi auto pistol. You need to make sure your wrists and forearms are locked while firing a semi-auto pistol. That slide needs a solid fixture (you) to work against.
To see if you are limp wristing the gun (and the problem is you not the gun) have a friend or another person on the range shoot your gun. It would help if they are familiar with firearms as a new shooter will limp wrist too.
Finally, if the above doesn't solve the problem, take apart your magazines and clean them. Some magazines come with grease in them from the factory. Factory Tanfolio Witness magazines (I forget who makes them) are known for this.
I'd go with polish the chamber and barrel ramp though.0 -

You say "some of the jackets have tears in them"
Dis-assemble your magazines & smooth/polish the inside & under edges of the feed lips. Look for sharp edges or burrs that cause scratching plus stiff stripping of the round from the magazine.

I went over the mags, but stupidly enough, I didn't think to super clean them. I'll try that approach first as it's the least cost.
If that don't fix it, at least I'll know what to tell the gunsmith when I take it in.

And yes, I am a new handgun shooter (mossberg 500 anyone?), and not to go all "I ain't no girlie man" at the limp wristed comment (I'm aware of the disorder and I'm aware that it could be a factor) but I tend to subscribe to the massad ayoob school of shooting which requires hard...everything. But it's something to look for when I go back to the range. Just because I'm trying for it doesn't mean I'm succeeding.

There is an upgrade for the jericho that reduces the recoil. Do a google search and see if thats what you have in your gun. It is an "upgrade" but see if it can be replaced and try that. Don't have a jericho yet but have researched the crap out of it. I was going to buy that upgrade when I get one so check and if thats it post it so I don't buy it 0
