Winchester model 63
I have a very nice 1949 model 63. this is going to a new squirrel hunter (young family member) Receiver is drilled (4 holes) for a side mount.
For the life of me, I can not remember nor find the correct base.
I have an early steel El Paso 4x weaver to go on it.
Anyone know the mount number, I think it was a weaver mount, maybe a Redfield.
Thanks

Date of birth serial # 761xxx?? Just purchased and nervous about the date of mfg. 0 -
You'll likely need the center-to-center hole dimensions to track down the proper base. Once you have that, I doubt you'll have trouble finding what you need.

The only thing I know of that is currently available is a Weaver Side Mount with a No 2 base. I guess if the holes did not match up, you could redrill the base instead of the gun. I don't know whether to specify the long or short mount, maybe Brownell's tech support would say.

Thanks, looks like the #2. Being in somewhat tunnel vision, forgot the original design was 1903, so assume when it says:
Winchester models, 03,42,45,47 ect.
Will give it a try, thanks again.
