26 or 28 inch Encore Barrel?
I've used a 26 inch (non fluted) Encore barrel in 25-06 for awhile and like it. Plenty accurate and in the Encore a 26 inch barrel is not unwieldly. Picked up a fluted 28 inch barrel (also 25-06) and am trying to decide which one to keep. That will ultimately be decided by which one shoots the best groups at the range. The two inches added don't seem to change the balance and handling characteristics much. So, if the 28 shoots as well as the 26 I'm wondering if the potential gain in velocity offsets the minor change in handling ease. Any experience any of you can recount in velocity changes between 26 and 28 inch barrels would be appreciated. . .as well as any other factors I should consider that I didn't mention. Thanks.

I've always preferred the 28". Longer the better. 0 -
I have a friend that bought on of the 28' fluted 25-06 barrels and it shot like crazy . I'm using past tense because he had it rechambered to .257 STW and now he can't hit the broad side of a barn with it (from the inside)It never pays to fix things that aren't broke [:D] 0
