16 Ga Parker Bro Side-By-Side Info Needed
I just acquired a Parker Bro 16 Ga side-by-side hammerless shotgun and I'm trying to figure out what I've got. The wood is in bad shape but some internet research leads me to believe that this is pretty old. The serial number is only 5 digits, unlike all I've seen so far, which had 6. The patent date on the fwd stock is 1878 but there's a date on the receiver of Mar, 15, 1875. There are numbers (3 and 7) and letters (F, T, and C) on the receiver also. On top of the barrel it says: Parker Bro Maker Meriden Conn. Twist. The but plate has a bird dog with a bird in his mouth. I believe the barrels are demascus. The breach lever is curved to the right unlike the rest I've seen. Any help or information would be greatly appreciated.
