s&w rear sight blades
Hello i recently got a model 57 but 1 wing of rear sight blade was broke. i looked on smith's web sight and they list several. designated as like .126, .140,.160 is this the thicknes of the rear blade. thanks kevin

Its the width of the slot cut in the rear blade.

thanks bean town now i really confused i thought that at first, another forum said it was the hieght? i have 2 other 57's might have to pull them oust and compare #'s somewhere hieght witdh if notch etc. not sure now Thanks kevin 0 -
Sorry beantown, it's the height of the blade. Smith uses different height blades for different calibers. 0 -
Ok thanks all i measured the width of the 2 others 1 was like .123 the other semmed to be about.138 approx the same as the broken one. where do you measure the height.from the top of where the windage screw goes through all are between .263 and .270 closest i can tell. 0 -

The rear sight blade for a model 57 should be .146. To replace it you will need a new screw and nut kit #078-001-001 from Brownells 800-741-0015. Call them and ask for the right blade. 0 -
