I have a Carbon 15 pistol made by Professional Ordnance, Lake Havasu. The gas tube broke a couple months ago. I called Bushmaster, who now owns PO. They gave me a return number, I shipped the upper to the Lake Havasu facility and they repaired and returned it to me. This was all about a month ago.

I called Bushmaster this morning and they told me they dont have any parts for the PO. I was told that if I wanted to get a bolt from them I would have to replace the barrel and that would run aprox $750 fot the barrel and the bolt and with that I can buy an AR. I would like to find just the bolt and not repalce everything.

Thats interesting. The bolt on my Prof Ord type 97 pistol broke at the cam pin hole back before Bushmaster bought PO. When I contacted PO they sent me a new bolt..... no new barrel needed.

I actually talked to two different service reps and they pretty much told me the same thing. I guess the PO has rounded ends where bushmaster has them squared. After looking at them closer they do seem a little different but am not really sure how it would work. I am attaching a picture of the PO bolt nest to Bushmaster so you can see it. Hope someone can help me out. Thanks for all the help here.

What about changing the barrel extension and the bolt to AR15 parts as a set? or are the bolt dimensions different in places other than the lugs?

I'M HAVING TOUGH TIME FINDING OUT ANYTHING ABOUT THE CHANGES THAT BUSHMASTER IS GOING TO DO IF IT IS SENT IN.
THE BARREL NUT APPERS TO BE MADE OF CARBON FIBER, BUT IS ROUND AND SMOOTH WITH A SMALL DOWEL PIN STICKING OUT THE FRONT A 1/4IN. AND IS ABOVE THE BARREL BELLOW THE GAS TUBE
THEN THIER NEW BARREL ASSY. IS MADE DIFFERANT AS IS THE BOLT CARRIER AND RECOIL SPING ASSY. AND TUBE.
KNOWING NOW AFTER TEN PLUS YRS. OF ENJOYING AR'S AND BUILDING A FEW I SHOULD HAVE NEVER BOUGHT THIS PLASTIC ONE.
