WST for .45 ACP
Hang in there with me. I was given about 6 pounds of Winchester WST. Being a cheep SOB I want to use it. I also acquired some 255 Grn. Plated bullets for 45 ACP. See comment about being cheep. I found a load in Lee for 260 Grn bullets. That's slightly less than a 2% difference so I think close. Now the load is for HP-38. In the Lyman book WST is listed as #19 in the powder chart and HP-38 is #20. I know the chart is not necessarily linear but I think they must be close. Lee says the range for Hp-38 is 4.5 to 5.1. I'm thinking if I start at the 4.5 I would be safe. Now - what am I missing??? Don't want to do something stupid here. Also, once these are gone I'll be back to 230 Grn. Bullets it either FMJ or cast. Anyone work up loads for these in WST?

I'd start the load at 4.0grs. Winchester's data is 4.0-4.5grs. for a 230gr. LRN 0 -
Cool - thanks for the help. Just checking to make sure I'm not completely off the mark. 0
