who makes an aluminum bedded stock for the rem 798? what other stocks can you reccomend for this rifle? thanks

  I prefer wood on my Mausers but that's a matter of taste obviously. Great American Gunstocks and Richards Microfit are two suppliers of wood stocks for the Mauser M98. Wenig is a little more custom but he does some less expensive blanks for the Mausers.
  
  If you're looking for something synthetic and 'drop-in' then B&C is probably the answer. I still suggest bedding any action in a bedding block because of the small variations that occur in manufacturing. But I'm sure that there are lots of folks that will state the exceptions to this.
